Dunstable Regionals
17th - 25th August 2013
Our regional competition - two classes, 60 competitors, and 9 days. High excitement, drama, and people pushing themselves to earn their National ranking (or simply land in a field).

Task Week & Soaring Course
13th to 21st April 2013
The early Soaring Course and Task Week are scheduled for the 13th to 21st April. The Task Week element is simply a case of turn up and fly the task - scoring will simply be based on best ladder scores but you will need to book in advance as the Soaring Course and Task Week grid WILL get priority launching.
The Soaring Course element will provide presentations, lectures, flying the tasks (alone, lead and follow or dual) and post flight analysis where appropriate. As you will probably realise this takes quite a bit of dedication from the people organising the event and providing the valuable input so we need to know numbers well in advance.
To get the most from this event you need to devote the full 9 days to it - just pitching up for the odd day does not really provide much of an experience and the lectures and presentations build on previous days' work. The Soaring Course is however open to all and the only real requirement is a strong stomach or suitable medication - at this time of year there can be a fair bit of grinding around.
This task week is not intended to be a training opportunity however there might be the opportunity to fly in a two-seat glider and see how it's done (or not as the case may be!).

Late Task Week
20th to 28th July 2013
This task week is not intended to be a training opportunity however there might be the opportunity to fly in a two-seat glider and see how it's done (or not as the case may be!).
For those with a glider or those who have hired one this is 9 days of organised task flying with ladder scoring again being the determining factor as to who did best on a given day. I am sure that there will be some opportunity to look at traces the next morning if we are not in for an early start. This can often be good fun and sometimes quite enlightening.
