Relax with your friends in the idyllic surroundings of Dunstable Downs before experiencing the thrill of flying.
Groups of 10 or more people (maximum 20 flying, 30 possible in peak summer when the days are at their longest) can book introductory flights on most summer weekday evenings, normally Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday, starting at 6pm.
For just £70 each you can have an aerotow launch giving a flight time of up to 20 minutes or £30 for an exhilarating winch launch providing up to 10 minutes of flight time. First-timers generally prefer the aerotow launch as this is a gentle and graceful way to take to the skies. Thrill seekers will prefer our winch which accelerates gliders from 0-60 in around 3-4 seconds!
It is possible to mix and match launch types on an evening, providing there is no worse than a 60/40 split in each launch type required across the total number of participants. For smaller groups, participants can also experience both types of launch method if you wish (at additional cost), providing a minimum of 10 flights are undertaken in total. As well as would-be student pilots, we welcome friends who just want to spectate.
Afterwards join everyone in the bar or at the picnic area to share those 'howidunnit' stories.
Our restaurant is not normally open in the evenings, but by special arrangement with our caterer we can organise arrange a meal, buffet or barbeque if there are sufficient people.
