Nobody comes back disappointed from this expedition. Situated in Mid-Wales, Shobdon is a great site for Bronze and Silver C pilots to gain experience in wave, hill & thermal soaring. The Welsh mountains are close to hand, and the site has a bar, a canteen and all other practical modcoms. The area also offers a huge range of places to visit or explore for those who may want a break in the middle of the stay or for partners and relatives who prefer other activities to flying...

Another occasion to learn about and polish up cross-country skills. Not ready to go on you own? Want to learn how it's done? Don't despair you can fly with an experienced cross-country pilot who will show you the techniques used to fly away and return (or land out, ahah...) to Dunstable. Run a little like, but not as pressured as a competition, you will learn about the weather, NOTAMS, task setting, and how to fly cross-country, and you will go away with a huge sense of achievement!

The London Gliding Club hosts a BGA rated Regional competition each year. In 2012 it runs 18th - 26th August and will be Directed by Justin Craig. London GC at Dunstable is known for looking after our visitors and our Regionals are no exception. Everybody will be made welcome and if you are struggling with crew then have no fear! Nobody will ever be left in a field, there is always a willing club member happy to get involved and help a guest pilot out.
