Phil’s Weather Page
Sunday 14th June
This page is updated whenever I have time to do so usually on the day at around 07:30, sometimes on the evening before. If the time shown is in the future I am still editing. Forecasts available on the day before are usually simply a way for me to generate one more quickly in the morning when I have an early start.
Time: 06.40
Surface Wind: 310/5 knots veering slightly through the day.
Synopsis: High pressure centred east of Greenland with Low pressure centred Scandinavia and Atlantic
Significant weather: Cu to just shy of 4000 feet eventually, benath some top cover and with a tendency to overdevelop. More top cover in the west.
Temperature: 20 C
Dew point: 8 C
Thermals: 2-3 knots but obviously less under top cover and where overdevelopment extensive.
Cross Country: Probably best London though the Midlands (North Notts) up to Sheffield, where just enough top cover to mitigate overdevelopment. Distance difficult; a bit hit and miss with the overdevelopment. Kent, Sussex and Hants and Dorset also ok but blue. Start 11.30 finish 17.00
Outlook: Weak waving fronts make forecasting difficult but probably a couple of mediocre days soaring wise.
